How many points have you ever received on your licence?

I got my first points in Swansea, whilst on contract at the DVLA, one Sunday, on my way to work, at the DVLA.

Unfair!

I got 3 points back in about 1995 for doing about 46 in a 40 zone - my fault, I ventured over the border into Wales.

Never been back!

Having 12 points on your licence but not losing it keeps you very aware.
That was nearly 20 years ago.

The crazy thing is that I'm soon going to be doing my 2nd speed awareness course. So clearly that deterrent doesn't work and only the threat of actually losing your licence does.

When I was at BNFL one of the chaps got 9 points in one journey in the space of just under two hours.

Just got his new Volvo, the first of the sporty ones, V40 or something.

Nope. One every three years or so.

I did one speed awareness course, was late, had to drive line the clappers to get there.

And with no MOT, I’d changed cars and mentally had the old MOT date in my head, three months expired!

Closest scrape was for driving under the influence of laudanum, but the old man had compromising photos of the judge.

Got stopped on the motorway once, no headlights. Had to turn them off to stop the car alarm going off.

Was my dad’s Ford Cortina, absolute shed.
