But a better question is, why on earth would they? That is in nobody's best interests, and when it all comes down to it, it is "mutual best interests" that will decide all of this.

Because, cretin, they don't want anybody else to leave EU.

The problem comes if we tell the EU that the stuff they are trying to export to us has to meet our standards. Then the EU is in trouble. Because most of it doesn't.
