Does the example near the bottom of the page about 1 in 5 to go through to a pool of two and then 1 in 2 to win cover your example?'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

I tell people I know I am on the market and they give me a ring with an opportunity.
Doesn't everyone?Comment

Yes it does. The Point I am making with the mathematical 1000:1 calculation is that the odds are very stacked against you if you chucking CVs at intermediaries via the likes of jobserve. There are limited barriers of entry and thus everyone and their dog does it. Its looking like a waste of time when there is large amounts of supply and limited or restricted demand.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostDoes the example near the bottom of the page about 1 in 5 to go through to a pool of two and then 1 in 2 to win cover your example?Comment

0.5 probability of getting heads on a coin toss? - Only two choices.Originally posted by WTFH View PostNo they are not.
Getting heads a number of times in a row is a simple probability calculation - however the chance of the next coin toss being heads - is always going to be 0.5.Comment

Were you aware that if you toss 20 coins, the odds of getting 5 heads or 5 tails in a row is 25%?Comment

Hope you are going to heed your conclusion and leave the contracting market so making it a little easier for us that have a clue.

Indeed. As any decent agent will avoid jobserve. They use specialist sites like *********. I don't think I will mention the one in my sector as I don't want others jumping in....Originally posted by northernladuk View PostMan that's just dumb.Comment
