Jeez - cost of kids parties!

£16 a head FFS. Wife organised it and briefly said she was going to invite all the kids in daughters class so no-one is left out. I was thinking 20 kids max with half of them not going.
    Theres 42 of them!

Not cheap. Told Mrs RSVP and no reply means not coming. I'm praying for a good few nos!

Remember when son was younger. Surely if you go to a party you but the kid a present? We always spend £10-£15 whenever daughter goes. I remember the number of people who strolled in with a 99p sticker still on the card. I did threaten to check presents at door with no present=no admission policy :-)

And dont get me started on those who say they're going then dont turn up - even though they know its cost you money.

We had a no present policy when they were young, as it was a ridiculous waste of money.

As for 16 quid a head, hold the event in the local park and ask parents to bring along a picnic to share around. Everyone understands that parents on benefits need to make do a bit, and you'll still all have a great time!

Only benefit I get is the ability to pay shedloads of tax working on an inside IR35 PS contract.

Reckon 10 weeks of benefit should cover it mind!

It's not the cost that's the issue. It's when you invite 42 kids they all say they're coming, you pay for them all and only 20 turn up.

Now that's going to piss you off.

There was a story that hit the news a year or two back about a woman who had done that and then tried to send an invoice to the families who did not turn up.....

whilst I understand the sentiment don't be that tw@

if you are going to splash £700 ash quid on your kids birthday just spend it - it is about the kid getting a good birthday.....

also - keep a note anyone who says yes and does not come does not get invited the following year..

We generally spend about £500 for a party. A lot of people won't respond until the day or will just turn up

You don't realise how much people lack common courtesy until you try and organise a kids party
