"Theresa May's manifesto risks losing the Conservatives their image as the party of business, The Daily Telegraph can disclose, after Britian’s small companies overwhelmingly rejected their policies and questioned the lack of costing in the policy diktat.

A vanishingly small proportion of companies support the manifesto, while the Prime Minister’s mantra of “strong and stable leadership” achieves only modest backing.

Instead, small firms are distressed by the recent U-turn on social care costs – which Mrs May insisted “clarified” the proposals – and by the Conservatives’ failure to fully explain how the party seeks to fund its policies.

The Daily Telegraph Business Tracker – an exclusive analysis of thousands of comments on social media by small business owners carried out by monitoring consultancy Impact Social – found a substantial majority of those mentioning the manifesto and its pledges did not like what they saw.

Of the messages studied, 51pc showed a negative reaction to the Conservative policies. Another 41pc gave neutral comment while just 8pc posted positive messages about Tory pledges."

Big business does not like Brexit.

Tories are shifting social costs onto businesses - increasing minimum wage will push people off claiming benefits, so essentially businesses will pick the tab.

Which is what they should have always been doing. If you have someone working for you and paying for your next big toy, then its your social responsibility to ensure they are not visiting food banks while you are pissing money up the wall of frivolous stuff... Same goes for paying staff **** all then using the dutch sandwich to funnel all the cash away to nowhere so it can't be used. Its time that Business realised that the true pecking order is Staff -> Customer -> Share holder/owner not the other way around.

If you look at the best businesses they all achieved max customer satisfaction by making their staff happy.

I am in principle for living wage, the problem is motivation - mine is for people to have decent life, for Tories to cut social responsibility of the State - same thing they do with "auto-enrollment", "apprentice levy" etc

If the state wants to teduce its own social responsibility then it should be reducing taxes, not increasing them - what we see is big sustained increases and cuts in services.

Fair scenario should be that businesses could offset all taxes (NICs, income tax, business rates etc) against corp tax - total pass through to shareholders with relevant tax credit - pound for pound of tax, then it's fair.
