There has been a lot of talk of Wahhibism in this thread.

I'd also like to point out that the prominent flavour of Islam being promulgated in UK mosques is from the Deobandi sect whose followers originally hailed from Deoband in India.

These also want to wind the clock back to the stone age and seem to like discriminating against women and gays too.

As far as I understand it there were links from the Mujahideen > Al Quaida to ISIS.

Many suspect that the US helped / funded the Mujahideen and Al Quaida when it was deemed advantageous for them to do so.

My point is that BB is arguing that we should not be bombing the Middle East.
While NAT is saying we should if our motives are "better".
To which BB says who's to judge?
Generally the historical motive for bombing the Middle East has been to keep free access to oil, whatever it takes.
Anyone who's read a history of the CIA and US meddling abroad surely cannot use the "good motive" argument.
