Out of my freinds who went out there 2 were pissed off and one was happy as larry because he earns more in the TA then in civvy street. None of them volunteered and yes it does put you off the TA (I decided not to complete my initial TA training).

You REALLY dont have a clue do you? That TA is there to act as a back up for the regular army and allows a large number of troops to be "retained" at arms without having to incur the full costs of maintaining these soldiers in regular units.The fact that TA is send to Iraq is just plain wrong - maybe if TA people volunteered to go then okay, but otherwise it is plainly wrong - it certainly put people off TA in the first place and probably tainted it for a long time.
If you are whinging your tits off because you dont want to go to Iraq...then why the f8ck are you in the TA for in the first place?
