Maserati is poor man's Ferrari, don't do it.

All depends if you can afford the occasional bill that will cost as much as most people pay for the entire car. Its not likely to be an engine problem with either of them but I'm sure there are a few people out there that have been caught out with carbon fibre brake systems etc...Originally posted by SeanT View PostBentley is a good call. I was going to suggest TVR - but you don't get many toys with them...Originally posted by bobspud View PostAll depends if you can afford the occasional bill that will cost as much as most people pay for the entire car. Its a delicate balance. The last thing you want is a car that makes you feel like you have wrestled a bull every time you drive it any long distances as you need to be able to work once there. personally I would like one of the new S Class coupes tonnes of power and even more comfort.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostI was going to suggest TVR - but you don't get many toys with them...Comment

I would go for a Hybrid.Originally posted by stek View PostNot driven for a long time, sold my car a while back, now I'm looking at jumping back in, dunno whether go for sensible, or second mid life crisis....
So, I've narrowed it down to Hyundai Ioniq (hybrid, will go by lease) or 8 year old Maserati Quattroporte, will buy.
Head says Ioniq, heart says Maser.
I've always had odd-ball cars and never suffered, and every time I try a new car I'm never happy, cheap and plasticky, no style, but at my age now seems to be sensible thing to do.
Ioniq: Cheap to lease and run, lots of toys, boring as fook, can't get excited about it.
Maser: Ace V8 burble, paddle box, lots of toys but no modern toys like iPhone integration etc, exciting, not cheap to run.
I should go for the Ioniq, ticks all but one box (no wow factor) but I want to go with the Maser, ticks only one box really.
Think I know what I should do now having aired it here! Has to be sensible.....
My next car will be a hybrid for sure.Comment

Indeed cars are like girlfriends would you rather be in a hot sexy one, stripped bare / champagne and fun, but high maintenance but smiles most days, or a comfy cheap cake eater that does a jobOriginally posted by Lockhouse View PostMaserati.
