That is where YOU fit in scooter.

Were you shouting out against Sturgeon during her 18 months unelected term?
I can't wait to see who the Tories put up to argue for the union
and contradict their positions in the EU referendum.
Scotland splitting from the UK is not really comparable to the UK splitting from the EU. The UK doesn't share a currency, a landmass or hundreds of years of sovereign Union with the EU.Taking a break from contractingComment

I couldn't agree more. And that is exactly why London Tories won't say that, or anything like that.

Originally posted by chopper View PostAlas, you forget that there is NOT majority support in Scotland for independence from the UK. And support for SNP is waning too which is why Sturgeon is desperate.
You make an absolutely false assumption that 60% of Scotland who voted to remain in the EU would automatically vote to leave the UK in order to remain in the EU. But this simply isn't the case. Plenty would prefer to remain in both, but would choose the UK first, not the EU. And there were plenty who voted to leave the UK last time around in order to get out of the EU.
And answer me this. Lets say Scotland overall voted for independence, but several council areas voted to remain in the UK. Should they get to remain in the UK?When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment

69 (out of 128) MSPs (54%) supported an independence referendum. However, there are more people in Scotland than just 128 MSPs. Support for independence amongst Scottish people, which is the more relevant figure, is below 50%. (Polling, which you cannot discount simply because it disagrees with your view).
The 69 is made up of the 63 SNP MSPs and 6 Green MSPs. Sturgeon asked the Scottish parliament because she knew she had the Green Party support.
It doesn't mean there is more than 50% support amongst the population.Taking a break from contractingComment

The fact remains, whether you think indyref2/Scottish independence is the best or worst idea in the world, matters not one bit. The Scottish parliament has a pro indy majority. The SNP have more of a mandate in Scotland than the tories have in the UK. Questioning their right to call referenda ad nauseum as long as they have majority support in Parliament is just dumb. If pro union parties in Scotland were achieving the support they seem to claim to have, we wouldn't be where we are now. When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment
