It's nothing to do with morale fibre, it is all to do with not sticking our nose in other peoples lives. How would you like it if a middle eastern force rolled into London, killed our government and put in a dcitator telling us that this is the correct way to live our life?

Who are you to say that our culture and way of life is correct and thiers is wrong? Why the fkuc should we run around the globe imposing our way of life on everybody else because we feel it is more humane?

Like it or lump it some places in the world are full of nasty people and you need an even nastier person in power to keep them in line. It may not fit with your hoity toity moral high ground, but it doesn't make it any less true...

Just the sort of idealism that deems it acceptable to look the other way if you see someone getting the cr@p kicked out of them. Nothing to do with me....sh1t happens.....not my problem....don't know them etc. etc.
Spineless and, contrary to what you might believe, entirely linked to moral fibre, or lack of in some cases.
Perhaps some kindly passing stem cell scientist might pass this way and inject some cells into the yellow stripes on certain people's backs with the hopeful outcome of some backbones growing? Who knows?

Not at all the same thing. One is me defending a citizen of this country and standing up for this countries rules.

The other is me invading another country because they don't live the way people in my country live (killing millions of them in the process).

Who are you to say that our countries structure is the correct one and the way that all people must be forced to live ???

We didn't go to Iraq for regime change. Tony Blair did, but we did not.

Parliament narrowly voted for war on the basis that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that could be used on their neighbours, and that could reach us in 45 minutes.

We didn't find out that that Blair's evidence was a tissue of lies until after we'd gone in. If parliament had known before they voted, they would not have supported him.

Saddam Hussein might have gone, but the only way we'll get out of Iraq is when we can leave someone like him back in charge.

Well of course the UN are dealing with that.

The same UN that all the chickensh1t weasels on here were suggesting we let resolve the Iraq crisis.
Personally I would be in favour of us and the Yanks (and anyone else not simply feathering their own national nests!) resolving a few problems worldwide, say Zimbabwe for example. However, I am resigned to accepting that our Governments will never get the green light to take action there due to the burgeoning wimpish culture that is so prevalent in the UK these days. Most of the moral guardians have gone off to spin in their graves, and those of us left with any moral conviction to see an end to tyranny find ourselves shouted down by the cowards and the white feather brigade. That's modern British democracy I suppose.........."I'm alright jack feck you!"
