We aren't in Schengen so we should know who goes in and out.
The fact we don't is not the EU's fault.
We may know who they are, but we don't seem to be entitled to know whether or not they have serious criminal convictions, for example, and that is something we can blame the EU for. Free Movement should have certain caveats attached, but it doesn't, thus we can't even deport people who are EU nationals, because under the EUtopians, they might be axe-murdering scum, but their rights trump our rights to be rid of them.
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

We may well know who goes in and out but how do you track where they are? How do you track them down after 3 months? How do you force them to leave? Why should they get preference over people from Australia or Syria?
I could be wrong but I don't find any evidence in the Spanish newspaper that trade talks in parallel are true. The only thing that they want is to negotiate is the sovereignty of Gibraltar.
It's obvious that after Brexit, all the EU members (not only Spain) that have economic interests with the UK will try to have a good business, but should be done after the Brexit.
It was said to the FT. I posted the link. Vetran posted a link to the IBT which is very pro EU.

I already explained to you, This is UK responsibility not EU.
EU is not ... oh well never mind.

It's up to the UK government to work that out as other EEA countries manage to do so.
If they get caught they are fined or helped to leave. If you are really desperate you put them on a coach and dump them in the relevant country like a former French president. You then get a slap on the wrist from the European Court of Justice.
The reason EEA residents get preference over people from Australia and Syria is the same reason we get preference in Spain over people from Peru and Syria.

... and he is going to ask you again how do you track them.
