Continental GT Speed. I do like a well turned out T1 though....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

Toying with the idea of one of those but it's the running costs that are putting me off compared to, say, a 911.Originally posted by Lockhouse View PostContinental GT Speed. Chalk and cheese. You can't compare the two as they deliver totally different experiences. Plus there are many different models of both.Originally posted by LondonManc View PostToying with the idea of one of those but it's the running costs that are putting me off compared to, say, a 911....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

It's at its best in town/stop-start. That's when there is the least point in maintaining manual control. You are entirely constrained by the traffic so you are just a human active cruise control.Originally posted by DaveB View PostPointless in town, or any stop start traffic, even the adaptive, .
Bearing in mind ACC is about letting the driver in front do the work, there are a few occasions where you need to override. If you come to traffic lights and you can't find some sucker to slow you down you've got to brake manually. Also coming up to junctions/roundabouts just because the guy in front is pulling out doesn't mean it's safe for you. That said, it's surprising how much of the time you can stay electronic.
To take up NorthernLad's point, I was a PM so I'm used to trying to get other people to do my work.
Sadly in my 'career' they rarely matched BMW's competence

Both GTs in the technical sense - 2+2, tulip off a shovel, nice looking motors.Originally posted by Lockhouse View PostChalk and cheese. You can't compare the two as they deliver totally different experiences. Plus there are many different models of both.
I'd be looking at the 4S coupe for the 911 and whatever's available for less than 30 grand with the Bentley. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment
