OK, so still going to go to vote. She has a big game to play now to keep people on-side.

In our democracy, the party that wins the most parliamentary seats (as chosen by the electorate), becomes the Government of the day.Originally posted by WTFH View PostNo she doesn't speak for 100% of the population because we are a democracy, not a dictatorship.
That Party can then decide, at any given time, provided certain criteria are in place, who they wish to be the Leader, and hence the Prime Minister.
That Prime Minister then forms a Government to act in the best interests of ALL the electorate, regardless of how they voted in the GE.
If you can't grasp that fundamental principle, then maybe you are not cut out for rational debate. Stick to mass debating.

Stop stating the obvious you wanabie southerner. But you full well know the country is represented by a single person at the end of the day.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostIn our democracy, the party that wins the most parliamentary seats (as chosen by the electorate), becomes the Government of the day. And now you have changed your argument. Is that because you lost the last one?Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostIn our democracy, the party that wins the most parliamentary seats (as chosen by the electorate), becomes the Government of the day.

Your last claim was that the PM spoke for 100% of the people.
Your new claim is that the PM and the government are supposed to act in the best interest of the people.
Speaking for 100% of the people is not the same as acting in the best interest of the people.
Do you notice the difference, snowflake?…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Well, it seems likely it'll be one great clusterf*. ..[/QUOTE]Originally posted by administrator View PostMissed the first bit, will have to listen again. Britain coming together. Snigger.
But as all politicians are aware of, to stay in power, you only need to act in the best interests of ~40% of the electorate - or less, if you can convince people that they can move into the class of people getting a good deal.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostThat Prime Minister then forms a Government which, ideally, is meant to act in the best interests of ALL the electorate, regardless of how they voted in the GE.
The Prime Minister, the Government, parliament etc. are all supposed to represent all the people of the UK, but in practice, they don't. Little confusing for some I know, but that is how it works in the UK ... and most of the rest of the world. Ah to be an idealistic, naive youth once more.

She does. They may not all like what she says, but that does not alter the fact that she speaks on behalf of them.Originally posted by WTFH View PostYour last claim was that the PM spoke for 100% of the people.
Is that permeating the darkest depths of your tiny brain yet jellyhead?

English really ins't your first language, is it.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostShe does. They may not all like what she says, but that does not alter the fact that she speaks on behalf of them.
If TM says "Devon is a tuliphole full of the near dead and idiots", is she speaking for 100% of the country?
Your argument so far has been that she is.
I have friends who would say she is not speaking for them. They would argue that what she says in not totally true.
Because we live in a democracy, they are allowed to argue that the PM does not always speak for them. They can have different views to the PM without risking imprisonment or death. They are allowed to speak for themselves.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
