Not sure what to reply to that other than, so what?

You have the power to burn them off or can choose not to race them.

Look at a BMW 330e M Sport (Hybrid)
Really fast (ish) family car and cheaper running costs.
      0-60 in 6 secs, 249 bhp

I'm actually quite impressed by the efficiency/road tax/performance but it's a real shame it doesn't look the part for a £30k car.

Seriously, never owned or driven the latter versions. Supposed to be great bits of kit but I guess you are either a "Merc Man", "BMW Boy" or "Audi W#####" (however if you went RS6 or S6, would make an exception).

Looked at the E63 too but it's not sticking with me. I've had Mercs in the past and rate them very highly - probably the best in class (for me) in terms of reliability and functionality. Maybe I need a change from Mercs or maybe in my mind the M5 looks that bit slicker. They're both around the same price i.e. £35k for a 2013/4 model.

Whoever's spouting on about Audis - they are the ugliest cars within this class! Nice from the back but very dated from the front.

The idea is that the others only see its back in the dust...

I agree, the problem with Audis is they all pretty much look the same so you can't tell a 10 year old Audi A4 apart from a brand new one unless you look at the number plate.

I personally like the Jaguars as they have a pretty good spec as standard so you don't have to pay 1000s to add on extras you want

Get an MSport Plus Body Kit with the right alloys and will look good - but not quite the M3/M4

I think the M4 is pretty ugly (well the cabrio isn't too bad) which is why I bought the M3. It has plenty of space inside, in fact it is as big as an older 5 series, and the fuel consumption isn't too bad either. It also eats most Porsches for breakfast
