I'd have been out on my ear if I'd done that.
But leaving it lying on your bedroom floor is OK?

After a 2 hour commute I get to the office & realise that my bag is feeling a little light.

Yes, that laptop that they insist I take home with me every night is still on my bedroom floor.

Happened to me - home was in the UK, work in Switzerland. Found an old desktop I could do some work on, while me wife got the laptop sent over by courier. Arrived the following morning. I'm sure you could have done something similar - must be less than the lost billable hours.

You may want to take a look at this and rephrase that post!

No. I didn't even make it onto the floor.

I still have to be escorted round the building as I haven't had my iris/retina scan doobree wotsit done yet.

          I was sent packing

Why is your work laptop in your bedroom?
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. But Gandhi never had to deal with HMRC

I assume because ClientCo doesn't use a proxy filter

I can keep my company laptop where I like in my house.

There as client's laptops it depends on company policy.

I have one MBP for when I'm in the office provided by the client and my own at home provided by my Ltd, which one I work on depends on where I am (VPN certs and git remote branches is all I need)

That happened to me once. So I left the office and went back upstairs to the bedroom to fetch said laptop.
