I doubt anyone will be able to get on the trains at Slough at rush hour going into London.

You sound like you're familiar with the area?

I don't live in Slough but I've taken the train from Slough a couple of times and it is (perhaps surprisingly) very easy and quick. And there are lots of them, every few minutes. Having them go to Paddington is good but Crossrail will have them go straight into the City which in my time is a great thing to see.... even more so because I live in an apparently nicer area but where the trains are slow as heck and a real pain if I have to go into London.
