If you plan on buying a super-duper 4D HD TV there's something recent it must have, or it's best not to bother.

I don't recall exactly what it is, but I think it relates to a new audio standard or maybe the latest HD video standard (?)

Otherwise you'll be buying the present day equivalent of a Betamax video player!
