An experiment in China, an AI program was supposedly able to correctly identify criminals in photos 89% of the time.
Convict-spotting algorithm criticised - BBC News
Dunno. I can't see any obvious reason why but, when you look at mug shots, there does seem to be a similarity, something about the eyes, often small, cold or blank. Look at some recent crimes in the news. All bias according to the critic, they get convicted because of how they look but, in these days of forensic evidence, is that totally convincing??
PS Perhaps we all put on that blank or sullen expression if we get mugshotted? Bit like my passport photo, come to think of it.
PPS My AI program has analysed CUK comments and identified several of you as criminals. The police have been informed.
