He was meant to be a different kind of politician; one who would speak honestly and plainly without playing politics. If he wasn't meant to be taken literally well that just highlights how much that was bollocks, and how much the american public have been duped. He repeatedly said he really would build a wall, and Mexico really would pay, not sort of maybe look into better border defences.
