It's rather sad that it's had to fall to a private citizen to make this happen, and now the poor woman is getting death threats from the democracy lovers. If May had simply said she'd seek out parliamentary approval from day one then there wouldn't have been much fuss. This has only become an issue precisely because the government are looking to bypass Parliament.

NickFitz, cooler! 14 days!Originally posted by NickFitz View PostOdd how these people were very insistent on wanting British law and British sovereignty, but when it's pointed out that British law says that the sovereignty of the British Parliament must be taken into account as part of the process of giving them what they asked for, they all piss their pants like a bunch of whinging toddlers.Comment

You missed several commas.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostThat's what the government argued, but the judges thought otherwise - and that's not even slightly complicated to understand. Got a legal argument, or just more foolish, ignorant hysterical hate-filled whiny bulltulip?
If I were as above then I wouldn't have condemned the Mail for its anti-gay rhetoric.
And if course they disagreed. They are all pro-eu Blairites.Comment

Because parliament already voted on it. It doesn't need revisiting.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostIt's rather sad that it's had to fall to a private citizen to make this happen, and now the poor woman is getting death threats from the democracy lovers. I'm pretty certain the goverment overthrowing the legal system because of majority mob rule is the start of fascism. What next all remainers and liberals need to walk around with a star on their arm?Last edited by BlueSharp; 5 November 2016, 17:38.Make Mercia Great Again!Comment

Parliament voted for the Referendum bill which they knew was advisory.Originally posted by GB9 View PostBecause parliament already voted on it. It doesn't need revisiting.
If Cameron didn't want to make the Referendum advisory would have ensured that."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

That's a bit facetious but I doubt Theresa May is above having anti-brexit MPs sent to labour camps for the day of a vote. Just brand them "enemies of the people" and nobody will mind much. Not if they know what's good for them anyway.Originally posted by BlueSharp View PostI'm pretty certain the goverment overthrowing the legal system because of majority mob rule is the start of fascism. May is just the patsy. Ironically, the longer the execution of A50 is delayed, the closer we get to that scenario.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostMay is just the patsy. Farage is waiting in the wings to form the National Salvation Government.Comment
