The house is in an area where we can't get gas. Oil and electric are the only options.
Oddly enough, I have a Rayburn & it's one of the few things I like about the winter; it's always nice and toasty in the kitchen when that's on.

This one has the vaporising burner & it does central heating as well as the hot water & cooking. But, yes - very expensive to run but not so bad at the moment with the lower oil prices.

Edit: Didn't see the earlier posts - sorry to hear that Halo Jones

Ours is cooking only. Does your kitchen become the congregation point when you have visitors in winter?
Also: baked potatoes done on low for about 5 hours and overnight porridge.

What's your favourite thing to cook using it?

Yes & where I'm moving won't have one so I'll probably have to fork out another few grand to have another because I shall miss it.

Best thing to cook? Tomato sauce done in a cast iron skillet on a low heat for a couple of hours so it's thick & nicely reduced.

TBH if you are in contract and invoicing at the moment you should be fairly happy with yourself.

Not necessarily. You can have the client from hell.

True. Some of the treatment of contractors does border on abuse at times and tends not to discussed much.

Saw that. Sadly we all catch a pup from time to time but you have my sympathy!

Do you think people had depression a hundred years ago?

What did they do about it?
