Scandafloor, Manufacturers and Installers of Hardwood Floors - Home Page
Last time I had a real wood floor laid, I used these people. It took them a week to install, nice solid oak product. Cost about £60 per m2. Plywood subbase glued and screwed to the concrete floor, then smallish strips installed and tacked down, sanded, then several coats of varnish. Yes, the colour aged in the sunshine, but it looked even better. It could be resanded & varnished about 6 times they said.
No v-grooves between planks when laid, just one smooth floor, with inlay at 2 planks from skirting board for effect.

Uk flooring direct.
Use engineered wood. Don't put underfloor heating under solid wood as it expands and contracts it regularly. And solid wood always expands far more than claimed.Comment
