so in one post she was too stupid to realise he was an asshole and in the next she is too complex to be accused of being money grubbing.

Of course whoever he stays with is going to suffer.

        hmm...

I think you have a reading comprehension problem - or are you in the habit of not understanding posts you quoted.

He never imagined he’d be returning each night from his job in the City as a top insurance recruiter and waiting patiently for each of his flatmates to finish in the kitchen before cooking himself dinner-for-one, then spending the evening watching television in his bedroom - the only place where he can enjoy some privacy.

Which bit of this story are you finding discomforting?
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Maybe he should have used his skills to recruit some insurance against divorce.

There will be insurance to cover the potential financial loss, and if not then there should be so an opportunity for someone's plan b to come up with a new insurance product and make a killing.

Though maybe it should be covered by the theft part of home insurance.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

er, but isn't insurance for calamities that might happen but probably won't?

Financial loss in the event of a divorce is a racing certainty (if you're a bloke!)

Not if you marry a woman richer than you.
