That's mainly rubbish. I lived in two of those areas and they were quite nice actually!

I used to go out with one of the druggies down docklands back when I was a layabout student, and hung out around Silvertown pubs and slums regularly. If you're white, English and not too posh then it's a great area. You won't get ANY trouble, even from the proper pikeys. Nothing that shouting "**** off you *****" won't solve. Beckton is also not too bad. Then again I'm a genuine Cockney so it's natural hanging around with scum!

        The Best

Where I live in Winchester is great but I'm moving back to London next year as the commute into The City is a nightmare.
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

???? I regularly take the train from Hedge End to Waterloo. I quite enjoy the 90minute kip on the way in...Is an hour and 10minutes not enough for you?

            stock market bubble pops
            Let me guess.

You have no property, you've sold whatever shares you have and your money is safely out of the over-valued bond market.

Presumably your entire savings are safely under your pillow.

Well I don't want to worry you but have you thought about the fact that the "under the pillow" market is also overvalued.
            I'm alright Jack

                east london

I can vouch for Bethnal green.

Its expensive now for what you can get and if you dont go council 200K will get you a relatively decent 1 bed.

However if avoiding commuting is your angle then its a no brainer as you are walking distance from the city.

You also have spitalfields market, which is now great for food. Dont think its quite as good as borough market for food but getting there and all your european fare, as well as veggies from Dorset Devon etc.

You have Brick Lane and Shoreditch, if you feel like a drink etc, which means no expensive cab journeys home.

Its dirty crowded and noisy but, IMHO reasonably safe, and like I say, if you are looking to avoid a commute, you could do far worse.

And lastly , you have salt beef bagels at the top of brick lane, which IMO, is worth living in a space where you can sh1t and cook at the same time.

Have you been burgled, has anyone you know near by been. Have you been a victim of crime?

Is it safe to walk down alleyways at night?

Has anyone been murdered in the local area in the last 6 months?

You thinking of swapping bedsits, Andyw? Curtains got too crusty?

I wouldn't recommend it for you, gormless people like you will almost certainly get a good kicking at some point.
