Both parties officially against Brexit - they'd vote Article 50 down.

If that's the main argument from the Bremainers, it's perfectly fine. A GE on an explicit manifesto commitment is the only way to overturn this. Of course, putting aside principles (the Lib Dems would never do that!), they see an opportunity here. However, I can't see a GE unless the victory is assured. My baseline scenario is that the new Tory PM will decide to trigger Article 50 immediately and will not hold a GE on the nature of the post-Brexit arrangements.

And remember Farage has stated that a 52-48 result is inconclusive. While UKIP only has 1 MP, they will have considerable moral authority as they campaign for a rerun.

There won't be a motion. But if there is a motion, they (Labour) really won't. And if they do, the Tories still have a majority. Don't forget that some Labour MPs (~12) explicitly supported Brexit and many others have said that it would be unthinkable to overturn the result.

Anyway, I think we've exhausted the argument. This thread will serve as a record of who was right...

            (2) can always be fixed of course, but not in a way that will benefit the poor.
Yes because the poor already are poor. Its hard to loose 70% on your portfolio when its already 0 The state WILL feed them and HOUSE them if need be.

On the other hand there are a great many investors holding property(S) in London skyscrapers that are probably feeling quite upset that they bought dozens off them off plan.

A crash in £ value plus a drop in value of 50 - 60% on the property even more if the holding company doesn't go bust like the guys that used to own Canary Wharf, and its starts to look real miserable for them.

Many of the poor have jobs and are keen not to lose them. Or is the difference between working poor and unemployed invisible from your lofty heights? What planet are you on, wittering on about portfolios?

I do admire your refreshing trust in the political process.

Farage may be. He is so honest and trustworthy, is he not?

Yes they have jobs but other than paying off debts they accrue because it doesn't pay enough to live well. If you take it all away many people would not be much worse off by the time someone else is housing them and feeding them.

So the difference is beneath you. Good to know.
