Isn't it time to acknowledge the referendum has been a complete catastrophe?

For chr*st sake man (or women) turn that frown upside down, so the pound drops so we have a recession I am old enough to remember the last one and the one before that, the 15% interest rates the 4million unemployed, did we cry into our soup yes but we still got up and got on with it, if you won a million on the lottery you'd be complaining it wasn't two million, yo can only help those that help themselves and I can assure you whilst your sitting around moaning and groaning about it someone else is out there taking advantage and making a Tulip load of money out of the situation -

I am a contractor I look after number oneOriginally posted by CretinWatcher View PostPerhaps you need to think about the bigger picture and not just self-interest?
How sure are you that interest rates are going to be "rock bottom" if the pound keeps falling and inflation goes up?
Does the country as a whole import more than it exports and what effect will a low pound have on prices?
What effect will that have on the trade balance?Comment

I think we had enough heat during the referendum. Now's the time for more light.Originally posted by Support Monkey View PostFor chr*st sake man (or women) turn that frown upside down, so the pound drops so we have a recession I am old enough to remember the last one and the one before that, the 15% interest rates the 4million unemployed, did we cry into our soup yes but we still got up and got on with it, if you won a million on the lottery you'd be complaining it wasn't two million, yo can only help those that help themselves and I can assure you whilst your sitting around moaning and groaning about it someone else is out there taking advantage and making a Tulip load of money out of the situationComment

Just because something has happened before doesn't make it a sensible policy objective.Originally posted by Support Monkey View PostFor chr*st sake man (or women) turn that frown upside down, so the pound drops so we have a recession I am old enough to remember the last one and the one before that, the 15% interest rates the 4million unemployed, did we cry into our soup yes but we still got up and got on with it, if you won a million on the lottery you'd be complaining it wasn't two million, yo can only help those that help themselves and I can assure you whilst your sitting around moaning and groaning about it someone else is out there taking advantage and making a Tulip load of money out of the situationComment

That's one possibility. To some the fact that Britain held a referendum, was surprised by the result and now has all its politicians doing the hokey cokey makes us look like an uninvestable banana republic.Originally posted by minestrone View PostI personally think it makes Britain look bold, adventurous and confident in its own ability.
That's certainly what the markets are saying and as some Brexiteer said to me on here "Money talks , BS walks"
Anyway time will tell, what's been done has been done, lets see what happens.
Only glad I converted proceeds of one of my BTLs to CHF before all this

The point I was making is that Tulip happens all the time even with the best laid plans, its how you deal with it that makes the difference, for people that claim to be contractors and have taken the risk of going it alone there does appear to be a lot risk averse people on here.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostJust because something has happened before doesn't make it a sensible policy objective.
Every good thing that as come my way as come about by change so I see no reason why this change would be any differentComment

Because change that limits your possibilities and narrows your markets cannot be good, maybeOriginally posted by Support Monkey View Post.

BTW in case you somehow missed the point of this thread with your mental ranting, its about the country as a whole not about you.

Every carrot I have ever eaten has been bought from a shop and I see no reason why the next item I buy from a shop will be any different.Originally posted by Support Monkey View PostEvery good thing that as come my way as come about by change so I see no reason why this change would be any differentComment
