of course selling it at a huge write down would allow them to offset their future tax liabilities.
Why do you think these companies have such huge valuations with comparably so little revenue? It's a way for Silicon Valleys' VC's to make a nice little exit.Comment

A couple of big names on the company front though:
Hotmail (whatever happened to that?)
Bungie - developed the massive shooter games Halo and Destiny among others
Visio - one that most of us will know
Rare - one that many of us will remember under its earlier name - Ultimate - as the producer of some of the best Spectrum games of all time such as JetPac and Sabrewulf. It rebadged as Rare and partnered with Nintendo to produce Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct, Goldeneye007, etc. before Microsoft acquired them.The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment
