Looking through, you'd probably have to look at what patents and products they got as part of the company rather than the company name being recognisable.Originally posted by DimPrawn View Posthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...s_by_Microsoft
You look throught that huge list of companies and you think, did M$ actually do anything with most of those?
A couple of big names on the company front though:
Hotmail (whatever happened to that?)
Bungie - developed the massive shooter games Halo and Destiny among others
Visio - one that most of us will know
Rare - one that many of us will remember under its earlier name - Ultimate - as the producer of some of the best Spectrum games of all time such as JetPac and Sabrewulf. It rebadged as Rare and partnered with Nintendo to produce Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct, Goldeneye007, etc. before Microsoft acquired them.

of course selling it at a huge write down would allow them to offset their future tax liabilities.
Why do you think these companies have such huge valuations with comparably so little revenue? It's a way for Silicon Valleys' VC's to make a nice little exit.
