Don't be daft, Wolfie whatshisface will realise he's been a total muppet - if he's even still in the job by the time the smelly brown stuff hits the whizzy thing - and, er, change his mind. A pretty feeble attempt at scaremongering, but nothing more.Originally posted by AtW View PostSo you think UK will suddenly switch from BMW, VW, Audi, Skoda, Porsche et al to buying Rovers?
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment

BTW what he actually said was that Britain wouldn't want to be part of the single market, because Britain wouldn't want to follow the EUs regulations like Norway and Switzerland. That's what the "control" that Boris and co. promise us means.
Want to be part of the single market? Don't vote not to be part of the single market. Simples. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

We might have them back if they come back with their tails between their legs.
If they vote Brexit we might have to reconsider the EUSSR, we have been rumbled.Comment

Why not?Originally posted by AtW View PostSo you think UK will suddenly switch from BMW, VW, Audi, Skoda, Porsche et al to buying Rovers?
The UK is a huge car market and the 5th biggest economy in the world. The talk amongst the UK hating remainers is as if trade goes only one way. Any trade barriers between the UK and the EU would be to the detriment of the EU more than the Uk.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

IIRC our own Indian owned car manufacturer keeps winning loads of awards, and they are cheaper than the (subsidised) German equivalents.Comment

Unless I've missed some nuance, he's stating the bleeding obvious. Indeed, it's essentially Vote Leave policy that we'd not Bremain within the single market (but still have fettered access), otherwise we'd need to abide by free movement. Of course, it's perfectly legitimate for Vote Leave to spin this ("we're a big economy, we might get a special deal" etc.), in the same way that Bremain spin the minor changes to in-work benefits as being relevant to immigration, but I think every sensible person on the Leave side understands that "full" access to the single market is not an option.

Cannot agree more with that - these people who are so used to getting their own way and when they do not they get all upset and expect someone to sort it out so they do get their own way.Originally posted by vetran View Postnope what he said is if they leave the club then they can't play with us. Completely and utterly out of touch with any form of reality.Comment
