Southern rail aren't the most reliable.

Ask yourself, what would a real contractor do? Heathrow Helicopter Hire and transfers by helicopter to London.

If you're not in a rush, it's fine. Obviously you could use the connect train to Paddington then stab your way to Victoria instead.

If you are in a rush do Heathrow Express to Paddington then tube to Victoria and then Southern Train to Brighton takes about 2 hours 20 minutes.

Your way would add on an extra hour.
