Easiest would be a taxi (I'd guess around 80-90 quid, booked in advance). Best compromise is probably Heathrow Express, then taxi from Paddington to Victoria, followed by the train to Brighton (train takes less than an hour if memory serves).Comment

Gonna be bus, 63 quid for the both of us and it stops just down the road from the hotel. It seems to be the cheapest and least hassle and takes only a little bit longer than all other options. LGW is a pain in the proverbial, mind, which is why I always get a cab, which has been known to cost more than the airfare
Gatwick is far easier and quicker.
Though I prefer taking a taxi to both or in the case of Gatwick, drive and park.
