Odd thing is though, it attracts totty like almost nowhere else. I remember a mate suggesting Brighton as the venue for his stag night, and thinking "are you fecking insane - the best we'll end up with is a reach-around from a 2 bit drag queen". Quite the opposite transpired...

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Easiest would be a taxi (I'd guess around 80-90 quid, booked in advance). Best compromise is probably Heathrow Express, then taxi from Paddington to Victoria, followed by the train to Brighton (train takes less than an hour if memory serves).

Gonna be bus, 63 quid for the both of us and it stops just down the road from the hotel. It seems to be the cheapest and least hassle and takes only a little bit longer than all other options. Taxi was looked at and is also an option depending upon who you use, prices range from 80 to ???...

It seemed to either gangs of drunken, tattooed 'plump' women wearing tight clothing or men with beards and their shirt sleeves untucked

You didn't say that on the thread where we were discussing LHR vs LGW expansion.
I did though, so I take it that we agree...

Nah because travelling to either airport by public transport is terrible.

LHR is fine for me, bus from the end of my road, and several other options which don't involve buses.
LGW is a pain in the proverbial, mind, which is why I always get a cab, which has been known to cost more than the airfare

Oddly I live nearer Heathrow but it's hell to get to by public transport.

Gatwick is far easier and quicker.

Though I prefer taking a taxi to both or in the case of Gatwick, drive and park.

Taxi fares to both are the same price and definitely don't cost more than air fares.
