    No contracts on LinkedIN

I've found that due to me putting a lot of info on my LinkedIN Profile, I get very relevant jobs on that site.
Unfortunately they are all perm. Any ideas as to why hardly anyone advertises contract roles on linkedin?

Because LinkedIn is American it doesn't understand how the uk market works. Contractors in the US usually are low skilled people after a permanent job, here contractors are high skill and see permanent as a step backwards.

My industry does have the appropriate contracts appearing online. But that's because I follow the few companies who cater for that market

In Germany LinkedIn is called Xing. Contracts galore. Freelancer.de is also a good place to look.

I use LinkedIn in Germany and get contracts/projects through it, don't bother with Xing too much but still get lots of stuff from consultancies from it, Gulp is better and can never work out my freelancer.de user/password

Too many agents on Gulp. I should have freelance.de not freelancer.de. Got one or two jobs direct with the client. Even a UK manufacturer. Desperate times when a UK manufacturer advertises on a German freelance site

While we're at it. I must confess to liking "http://www.indeed.co.uk" .de or .whatcountrytakesyourfancy

I have profiles on Xing and LinkedIn and have found contracts through both of them. if you're connected to agents on LinkedIn you will see contracts appearing in your news feed as they continuously advertise them. it is true though if you look for vacancies in the job search bit they are mostly perm.
