Get Cayman GT4

SLK AMG is not a very good sports car. old fashioned Auto box only makes it frustrating as a pure drivers car. Handling is nose heavy.Originally posted by LondonManc View PostThe only SLK I'd entertain is the AMG version - serial killer in hairdresser's clothing
It's so far away from a Cayman it shouldn't be on your list.Comment

And now this SLK has just surfaced on the modern classic radar for those in the know. Prices are solid and probably rising. If fact, and I've said this before, given contractors are meant to be financially savvy there do seem to a lot who are quite happy to buy flash motors brand new and take a good kicking in the stones with depreciation. £10K can buy you a seriously nice motor and £20K something stupid.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostSLK AMG is not a very good sports car. old fashioned Auto box only makes it frustrating as a pure drivers car. I wouldn't be looking at a new Cayman, 4-cylinder freaks that they are.Originally posted by The_Equalizer View PostAnd now this SLK has just surfaced on the modern classic radar for those in the know. 2014 Cayman S in 18 months would be a good price point and last generation of the six-cylinder Caymans, making it a good fun weekender and a decent longer term investment option too. All sorted. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

Sounds all very sensible - well as sensible as you can be when buying such a car. I've always thought people are unnecessarily sniffy about Caymans. They are very nice cars.Originally posted by LondonManc View PostI wouldn't be looking at a new Cayman, 4-cylinder freaks that they are.

Loved my last one, just too impractical at the stage we were at. 18 months from now, things will be significantly different. I think they were viewed as a poor man's 911, when they are something else entirely. Now, a hard top Boxster/Cayman hybrid; that could get interesting.Originally posted by The_Equalizer View PostSounds all very sensible - well as sensible as you can be when buying such a car.
