Considering he wasn't convicted of actually raping anyone AFAICS, despite his obvious efforts and the fact he was a persistent sex pest, 12 years seems a bit steep.

I think it is the persistent and clearly planned way he went about it that got him the long sentence.
It's not like he had a beer to many and read the signals wrong is it.
