Sounds like the european thing to do. A match made in heaven if you ask me.

        What is this "European thing"?

Its a group of disparate nations with different cultures, politics, systems, values.....

If you want to see differences go travel the world. It'll make european neighbours seem like peas in the pod.

Europe is doing the right thing time and time again for the majority of its members. If Europe were to dart and veer to suit tory party politics we'd never make any progress, not to mention it being drastically unfair to other members.

Our problems with progress have always been internal. Something that'll never change if we leave. The great unwashed will happily believe otherwise, their debts will magical disappear, the migrants vanish, and the laws lost will allow our government to jump to action. Total poppycock.

I'm hoping, and half believing, some arch-federalist EU politician will lob a ball, or grenade more like, out of the blue and hit Cameroon & co square in the bollox about two days before the vote.

Many of them want the troublesome UK out of the EU as much as does the most ardent Brexiter!

(and yes, I know the UK leaving would supposedly damage the EU somewhat, so arguably they'd be shooting themselves in the foot. But some of them may think it will be worth a bit short term pain to be rid of us.)

Look over your shoulder. You will see a mountain of salt.

Europe only does the right thing for Germany.

The citizens of Greece are the biggest victims so far.

France, Spain, all other European members benefit from their own choices.

In the early noughties, the German economy was tanking while the rest of Europe was fine. Cue lower interest rates. Cue booms in Greece, Germany etcetc. Come the late noughties, most of Europe needs a low interest rate. But Germany needs a high interest rate. Guess which one Europe gets.

Earlier you were posting about Europe as a whole. I am pleased we agree that they are individual nations that need individual treatment.

As ever, it is the poor that suffer. The architects of the Europe project should be sent to Nuremberg for trial....

France gets to run the CAP, coining in billions and forcing up food prices, plus it hosts the EU parliament in Strasbourg once a month, at humongous cost to the EU taxpayer, but it's written into a treaty so can't realistically be changed.
Spain get to send their mahoosive trawlers all over EU and international waters without let or hindrance, and even if that dictat isn't written in a treaty somewhere, there's fairly close to sod all we can do about it from within the EU.

As for the Greeks, they seem to be behaving like a teenager who found their Dads credit card and went on a massive shopping splurge, and now expect their German stepmother to pay up. And some of you idiots want to vote to stay in this circus?
