    Political Correctness gone mad.

They should host it there because it is a good course.

This neoliberal crap has to stop.

I do not agree. It sends out all the wrong messages to people. If they want their own men's club then fine. If they want to send the message that golf is a game just for old men then fine also. If they want golf to be an inclusive sport for everyone then they should shun Muirfield. Just as Muirfield are free to keep themselves as a men only club the R&A are equally entitled to drop them as a location for the Open championship.

Golf is a tulip game so I really don't give much of a toss TBH.

Look at all the dodgy countries which host the F1.

It's the venue, not the politic.

The point is lots of sports take place at locations where there are issues. Repression, gender discrimination, racism. But the locations are great and the sport is awesome. A male only club hosting an open event doesn't really get my PC sabre rattling.

Fair enough. Then the question is do you engage with these groups/countries and hope to change attitudes or do you boycott them as is happening at Muirfield?

FWIW, I agree with DA. They should be free to look stupid if they want, absolutely. But we should be free to treat them as such.
