Cloud Storage Options

I'm using Tresorit for almost two years now. End to end encryption with servers in the EU protected by Swiss privacy laws. €200 a year.
Hey, I work with a lot of commercially sensitive material. A couple of British companies among them.

Synology NAS box running CloudStation in my office. CloudStation is their version of Dropbox. So I have as much space as I need and its flawless and extremely fast (Virgin 200mbs service with 10mbs upload)

The NAS box is also backed up to Amazon Glacier in case of a disaster.

All expensive to start with and then free forever (obviously not including Glacier which is a small monthly cost of a couple of dollars unless I need to recover from said disaster and then it gets a tad expensive).

Nah, NSA isn't allowed to spy inside USA... so GCHQ gives a helping hand to make it legal, where as NSA does the same for UK and nobody gets hurt ....

I was thinking that.

I use free dropbox all the time. I even use it to transfer between two PCs next to each other on a LAN because it's much easier than arsing around with Windows networking.

Carbonite for backup too. A NAS is all very well until your house burns down.

Its rampant everywhere now anyway, USA or Europe...

Using cloud storage is akin to keeping your filling cabinet out on the street. Perhaps not a top concern for most. However if you're working on restricted / commercially sensitive material...

It's not rampant everywhere. Europe, partially Germany and Switzerland, have some of the most strictest privacy laws of any country. I value my privacy more than I care for it to be exploited.

Yep that's why I don't put on the internet or even computer things I really don't want people to know.

BTW I seem to use Google drive and Amazon.
