It will only happen if BoE gets rates back where they should be - 5-6%, which it might be forced to defend sterling as otherwise inflation will take off (UK imports more than exports), so if house prices drop by half with new higher interest rates they will remain unaffordable anyway, with lots of people in negative equity.
