The problem, like all problems (and the suggested crap solutions) is of cretinous origin.Originally posted by original PM View PostAre you implying that the problem is not of Muslim origin?

BREXITOriginally posted by original PM View PostSo - maybe the writing has been on the wall for a while now...
Oh look someone wrote a book which could be considered mildly offensive and got a death threat from the Muslim community
All this talk about not integrating - if you are the outsider you need to integrate - not the other way around - the country you are supposed to be integrating into is not to blame cos you know they let you live in their country so you could integrate.
Or by integrate do they mean have a completely separate little community?
Also one thing which is starting to annoy me is the immigrants - so someone with guns comes and takes your land - so you then go and expect to be able to take someone else's land - and if you do not get what you want you then decide to riot etc.
As others have said the only way to deal with this is to stop trying to make excuses for people based on what we perceive and start to address the issues we see.
Turn the area to glass and make it a quiet neighbourhood for the next 20,000 yearsComment

Oh dear. I wonder if any of the hand-wringing ninnies who set up that site may now be having second thoughts

That said even here there is an idealogical discussion. If you believe in letting in refugees at the cost of some convenience and niceties for the natives (terribly hand-wringing obviously) do you still consider it worth doing so at the slightly increased risk of terror attacks?
I think some people would argue that freedom and morality at a high price is still worth it. For instance it's really up to the peoples of France and Belgium to decide.
Not dissimilar from a parent having to decide whether to let their kid play somewhere a bit overgrown and rough around the edges... there is more risk of an injury but long-term is that worth it?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

What does this bombing have to do with refugees? Or as someone put it:Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostRefugees Welcome in Brussels

The usual motley crowd of extreme-right hatemongers are opportunistically using today's terrorist attacks in Belgium to try and stir up hatred against refugees. The claims that refugees carried out these barbaric attacks are completely unfounded because there is no official information on who the attackers were yet.
Looking back at previous attacks (like the London 7/7 bombings and the two atrocities in Paris last year) it's clear that they were planned and perpetrated by "home grown" terrorists, not refugees from middle east war zones.
Anyone blaming refugees or shrieking "close the borders" before the identities of the perpetrators have even been established is clearly guilty of politicising this appalling atrocity for their own xenophobic purposes.Last edited by darmstadt; 22 March 2016, 17:59.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
