My current client is Japanese; the office has people of every creed, colour, nationality and race in it.

We naturally assume the potential racist villains here are indigenous British people, as always.

But it's quite possible it could be aimed more at foreign people who don't always see eye to eye, such as Arabs and Jewish people, or Japanese and Chinese.

It's probably attitudes like that that mean they have to do this in the first place. Maybe they had a bad incident and HR agreed to something like this as part of the settlement?!

WTF?

It means they have been sued and lost/had to settle over racial and/or religious discrimination.

It doesn't mean that you are not allowed to stand up against behaviour like this even if the people involved are the same culture.

The problem is not only the racial or religion, could be just the behavior they want to impose, can be very annoying, belive-me.
