I was under the impression that he wanted to build his factory where he wasn't allowed to build it, some permissions or something, so in a fit of pique (and because it was cheaper) he buggered off to Malaysia whereas I'm pretty sure that he could have moved his factory to the North of England and got some grants as well...

Nope, UK Govt. should start backing those businesses when they want to enforce their (costly) Patents, in any Country that has signed said agreement. Caveat Emptor any countries that aren't.
