Right, offer has been officially accepted.
They've messed me about all week. The house is up with another agent and when I rang them after the vendor accepted the offer through the first agent, I was told by the second that as it's a repossession that they could show me around and I could make an offer right up until exchange.
When I eventually heard back from my agent, it wasn't a 'congratulations' they want to go with you, they said 'well you're the highest and have the funds so they legally have to go with you, now do you want to use our solicitor so we can do it quicker?'
'Hang on' says I. Does this mean if someone at the weekend wants to see it, you'll take them and take an offer. 'Yes', we have to.
'So I can get gazumped any day even though I've paid for valuations, solicitors etc'.
'Yes' said agent A, 'Can I have your solicitors details now please?'
'Um No. You can wait until Monday now. I want to see who comes out of the wordworm over the weekend before I spend any money'.
I fly to the US on Monday. What a pain in the arse. Maybe I'm a bit naïve on repossessions. Stressed me out completely this has.
WTF would you try and buy a house knowing that the other agent is trying to nick the commission of the other by constantly doing viewings & you'll gazumped any time & will lose money.
Feckers. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment
