What is the accepted wisdom on the service company section of the self assessment return? My accountant automatically fills this in, yet as there is no legal definition of a personal service company is this the right approach? Cheers

In the past I have answered "yes" to this as I could not truthfully answer no, not sure what the impact would be if you don't answer it, this thread seems to suggest not much

My accountant does not answer this question and adds a note at the end stating that for a SA return the source of the income stated for tax purposes is not relevant. Which seems sensible, the tax man should only be concerned here with the calculations detailing that the correct tax has been paid on stated earnings for the tax year in question, whether the revenue being taxed is from a 'PSC' (whatever that is legally speaking) is not relevant within this context.Comment
