Don't assume anything with this government.Originally posted by SimonMac View PostI suppose the key will be when they expect payment, CT now gives you nine months after a submission, if this continues it won't be a problem and Hector will start getting money every three months, but I assume more companies will pay their CT in instalments anyway so few will leave it to the full time period, but more importantly they will know what they are expecting earlier.
They don't understand how businesses work, and neither do the bright sparks in the Treasury and HMRC who come up with these policies.
Remember while we don't have buy stock we buy assets and contribute to pensions that depress our yearly profit. So yes while I could have a profit in quarter 1, if I need new equipment or to buy stock in quarter 2 I'm going use some of that profit."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

You may be right. 10K new signatures since I posted the link this morning would indicate that many don't share your optimism.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostOnly because they make it a biggie. With software there's no reason why it needs to be complicated at all.

Every time I do any of these things I spend the first hour trying to remember where I wrote down the ID and password the year before. Doing it more often might be a bonus. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

That's exactly right.Originally posted by BolshieBastard View PostPeople are missing the point over quarterly tax returns. Its HMRC's objective to eventually migrate everyone to monthly tax billing. Moving to quarterly will just be a step in the process.
Meekly accept quarterly returns by all means but dont whinge when a few years after you're all told you'll now have to submit monthly returns and payments.
Wont bother me because I'll be back in retirement with my feet up. Hey ho!Comment
