    Im on an agreeable break until 4 Jan. Happy days.

    Not only that, its another year I need to work to top up the pension pot. now if it wasnt for the need of having to do a "bank of mum and dad"!

        Your benching was forced because you weren't renewed. Your remaining on the bench is voluntary.

        It's pedantic, yes, but that's kinda NLUK's thing.

            Nope. It's voluntarily keeping yourself on the bench... but you already have a verbal (which can be binding) offer of a gig which you are waiting for so you could argue you are actually involuntarily sitting on the bench due to having to wait until the start date of your next gig HTH
