Sadly not, which is why Osbourne did the U-turn on tax credits. I did mention it - but my mother and aunt are also fairly elderly and so find things like saving tax rather scary. Funny thing is, they're gifting it now - but only because they want us grandchildren to have more from our Nan. It was her inheritance from my great grandfather - so the government already got their 40% once. His dad was harbour master at Hull, and founded a chain of shops selling clothing and equipment for the shipping industry.
