Old relative with eye sight getting worse, needs bigger buttons and mega simple mobile phone. Currently use an ancient Nokia, only for voice calls. Ideally something that would work with their existing Virgin SIM. Any recommendations on device to buy?

Anything of the pre smartphone era like an ancient Nokia, anything else will confuse them
Just wrap up their old phone in xmas wrapping paper, and tell them you've got the latest new phoneSocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent. -

There's some good stuff about. My mum has dementia, mild for now, but it turns out there's a whole industry around this with clever gift ideas and such.
Anything that can help her keep quality of life is good by me.I'm a smug bastard.Comment

The Doro 580 seems like a good idea, but I'm concerned she'll go off like a bottle of pop. It's quite tricky addressing dementia with someone with dementia.I'm a smug bastard.Comment

I've got an Alcatel One Touch 20.12 Chocolate Brown as a 2nd phone, which seems to fit the bill.
It's on Virgin.
Has large buttons.
Excellent battery life (c. 5 days standby)
Has Bluetooth for connecting in car / headset.
£35 inc £10 top up.
