No, Aussies call themselves Aussies and Paki is usually used as a derisive term. There's a difference, and frankly if you can't see that then there's little anyone can do.

Having said that though, and spent many years in Australia, I can tell you that Aussies don't find Paki to be an offensive term anyway. They tend to be equal opportunity racists and don't mind offending everyone equally.

I'm out. I have work to do, and sadly far too many of you have been drinking the Kool-Aid far too long.
Anyone can say what you have said using simpleton logic. What would be truly grounbreaking would be to suggest how things should have been done diffferently to ensure people like you enjoy a comfortable protected highly paid privileged life style.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Obliviously whites can't be subjected to racism. It's that 'white privilege' invisible shield.

Anyway, none of this is terribly relevant.

Bombing them will work, it worked with the Taliban, it may have taken 10 years and a few weddings got a bit messed up but it eventually takes out the smarter ones and the lower level ones just drift back to shagging goats and farming for a living. Keep the bombing going I say.
          Worked real well, right?

So pray tell us, how many of these people who committed the attacks were part of the current influx of refugees? So far all reports show that possibly only one, who was originally a Belgian, came in via that route and the rest were all born Europeans which pretty much puts paid to that argument but that is what ISIS wants you to believe:

In fact, large numbers of citizens from France, Britain and other Western nations have traveled to Syria and Iraq to fight, suggesting that the problem is not so much those coming from over there but those who are already here. Nor are these people necessarily the ones with familial links to the Islamic world: There have been a number of European converts to Islam who have traveled to join Isis, and vast numbers of European Muslims have repeatedly condemned the actions of Isis.

Perhaps one of the most persuasive arguments against equating refugees with terrorists is simple: It's exactly what Isis wants.

The very same refugees entering Europe are often the very same civilians who face the indiscriminate violence and cruel injustice in lands controlled by Isis in Iraq and Syria (though, it should be noted, many in Syria are also threatened by the brutal actions of the Syrian government).
Its called screwing with your mind but continue to believe in your right wing rants because that is how they'll win...

It's going to get interesting in that both Saudi Arabia and Russia, who are on opposite sides by proxy, are heavily dependent on oil revenues and oil prices seem to only be going in one direction for the time being.

What should have been done differently? No Iraq, no Afghanistan, no wars of conquest off the back of a lie. That would have been a good start.

I also don't recall stating that my "comfortable protected highly paid privileged life style" was something I had a right to.

Are you prepared to call her a racist?

In fact I wouldn't recommend it, she would totally cream you monkey boy
                    M,

I once dated a lovely mixed race girl, and but yes my POV is as a white man. I'm sure your missus could kick my ass!

Check my posts; I have only ever used the term 'offensive'. Though I do consider the term 'brown people' very close to racist and would never use it for fear of racially offending some one. And I think there are a good many people out there who feel the same about this.

There are many terms I find offensive, both sexually, nationally, as well as ethnically orientated.

If someone says to you, excuse me, I find that language offensive, do you mind refraining from using it. I'm not sure the best response is to tell them, you're wrong?

Drove through Molenbeek in Brussels yesterday evening on the way back from London as a matter of fact, didn't see any real large police presence seeing as this is meant to be a hotbed of radical unrest although I will admit the weather was pretty tulip, probably don't come out in the rain....
