Yes and all those on this forum who voted Tories are very clever people who should rejoice at every pound of flesh Gideon takes because Labour would have done worseOriginally posted by Waldorf View PostUnbelievable, I always wondered who the idiots were who voted Labour, now I know! You are very deluded.
Who is deluded here?
The fact is that Labour said they will reduce deficit SLOWER with MORE DEBT. That meant lower taxes. Gideon wanted to outdo them and made reckless promise that now require massive increase in taxation which would NOT have happened under Labour. What would have happened is 50% tax reinstated which would have caused far less damage to most people on here.Comment

Mind you, that's probably how they got their T&S, IR35 and dividend tax ideas.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostFat cat syndrome.

Could your business function if you had to promise today exactly what you would spend, and earn, for the next 5 years and you had to stick to it?Originally posted by AtW View Post1) Tories should have declared it during election - in fact it should be legal requirement for all parties to ONLY change taxes (other material things) that they have declared in their manifesto
Divi taxes are entirely reasonable at the current proposed levels, this is a correction we had coming. It's all the other stuff that seems absurdly punitive.2) Tories should have said at least something along those lines - increased taxes are for the duration of Parliament to make sure we reach objective of smoothing the effect of spending cuts at start of ParliamentOriginally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
