True, I apologise to the window licking fraternity, it was unfair to them, thanks for putting me straight on that. -

Just how much of that would have survived when the inevitable Greek style realisation that monumental debt at their kind of levels was unsustainable, despite the end of "boom and Bust" that the one eyed moron announced, they were riding a massive boom which has been over a few years.Originally posted by AtW View PostLast time was great -
1) 40% max income tax
2) lovely CGT taper relief
3) 5%+ bank interest rate
4) property prices much cheaper (!)
What's not to like???
If you truly believe that a Labour government with all the benefit escalation to buy votes is sustainable then I suggest you go to somewhere with a socialist government, oh I forgot, you claim to originate from one of those don't you?Comment

Socialist Govt is in Sweden and Norway. Conservatives completely betrayed their votes and trying to bribe what they think is former Labour electorate, funded by extra taxes on core Con vote.
That is not sustainable because Labour will come back to power sooner or later and will only INCREASE taxes futher.
Therefore, the main job of Conservatives should be CUTTING TAXES rather than increasing - they should have outlawed any tax increase that wasn't in the manifesto.Comment

You really need to lay of the esoteric pharmaceuticals that or get a massive dose of political reality. I'd term you naive, but that doesn't even drift close to the reality having just read your post.Originally posted by AtW View PostSocialist Govt is in Sweden and Norway. I guess I am just not used to electoral fraud in a supposedly democratic country with free mass media.Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostYou really need to lay of the esoteric pharmaceuticals that or get a massive dose of political reality. Try the USA, that's electoral fraud on an industrial scale, makes the UK look utterly amateur by comparison.Originally posted by AtW View PostI guess I am just not used to electoral fraud in a supposedly democratic country with free mass media.
I refer you to the previous comment regarding naivety if you honestly think there's a non corrupt democracy on the planet, it's mostly a matter of scale.Comment

Neither Sweden nor Norway is socialist and they're either on course or in plans to begin their own programmes of spending (growth) cuts because neither is doing fantastically well. This has been evident in Sweden since the recession, and Norway cannot rely on oil to cover up the inefficiencies in its own system anymore.Last edited by Zero Liability; 19 October 2015, 15:03.Comment
